Broan-NuTone QT242BL Review: Broan QT242BL Under Cabinet Range Hood, Black, 42-Inch. Purchased this hood about 3 years ago. Initially it was very quiet and lived up to my expectations but within 6 months it started to make a god awful annoying growling noise. More noise than a busted chain saw. Replaced the motor twice and within 6 months the noise returned. Scanning the web I see many people with the same problem and they indicate that Nutone will not provide any relief.
